Follow these easy steps to pre-program your unique printer code into your computers Printer Driver. The video below will walk you through these same step.
Part 1 - Setting your Accounting Code
- Search for Control Panel by clicking either the magnifying glass or the start button and typing Control.
- Click on Control Panel, then click Devices and Printers
- Locate the Xerox C70 Color printer (it may not be named exactly this but it will be similar) and Right Click on it.
- Choose Printer Properties from the menu
- Navigate to the Configuration tab and scroll down until you see Accounting
- Click on the drop down next to Print-Time Prompt and change it from Always Prompt to Do Not Prompt.
- You will be asked to enter a User ID and a Passcode. For both, enter the SAME code that you use to gain access to the Sequoia Parkway office via the back door.
- Click Ok, then Ok again and you're all set.
Test out the new configuration by printing something, it should just print as normal. If there are any problems, email it@tru-ind.com for assistance.
You will also be prompted for the same code whenever you walk up to the printer to make copies, simply enter your code to login and you will be able to proceed as normal.
Part 2 - Enabling Secure Print
The final part is to enable Secure Print by default. This will mean that your print job is held securely at the copier until you are ready to pick it up. To enable this, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Printer Properties (follow steps 1 - 4 above)
- Click Advanced then Printing Defaults
- Change the Job Type dropdown from Normal Print to Secure Print.
- You will be prompted to enter a passcode (Hint: we recommend using your door code so it's easy to remember)
- Click OK, then Ok again to get back to the Printer Properties screen
- Click OK one final time and you are all set.
Once this change is made, you will need to manually release your secure print job at the copier. Follow these directions to do that:
- Press the Job Status button on the copier & tap your job from the list of held jobs.
2. Tap Release, you will be prompted to enter your passcode.
3. Enter your Secure Print passcode and tap Confirm, your job will now print.
